GENERAL

What is RENdeR•INdex?

RENdeR•INdex, also shortened as RenRin, is a community-driven game performance index tracking FPS, resolution, settings, hardware, and display features across PC and consoles. Browse the game performance index.

Is this free to use?

Yes. Browsing, searching, and comparing performance data is completely free. Creating an account lets you contribute data and vote on accuracy.

Where does the data come from?

All data is submitted by community members and reviewed for consistency. RenRin also uses a Background Agent to help update games and supporting data automatically, with source-backed changes kept separate from unknown data. Submissions still go through moderation before going live.

ACCOUNTS & REPUTATION

How do I earn Frames (reputation)?

You earn Frames when your submissions are approved:

• New game submission: +10 Frames

• Performance data submission: +5 Frames

• Detailed notes bonus: +2 Frames

Rejected submissions lose 1 Frame. Check the leaderboard to see top contributors.

What are the rank tiers?

Your rank is based on your Frames (reputation):

• Resistance — 0+ Frames (new arrivals)

• Scanner — 50+ Frames (data gatherers)

• Battler — 100+ Frames (proven contributors)

• Attacker — 500+ Frames (elite operatives)

• Commander — 1,000+ Frames (auto-approve + moderation powers)

What is a Commander?

At 1,000+ Frames you reach Commander rank — your submissions are auto-approved and you gain moderation privileges, same as Operators.

What is an Operator?

Operators are trusted community members appointed by admins. They can directly edit game data, approve submissions, and help moderate content. You can request Operator status from your dashboard. It's possible to be both an Operator and a Commander.

How do I request Operator status?

Click your nickname in the top bar to go to your dashboard, then click "Request Operator Status" in the Account Information section. Provide a reason and an admin will review your request. If denied, there is a 24-hour cooldown before you can reapply (7 days after a second denial).

SUBMITTING DATA

How do I submit performance data?

Click "Submit Data" or navigate to a game's page and click "Add Performance". You can add multiple performance entries at once — select a device, mode, FPS target, resolution, and optional features for each entry.

Can I submit data for multiple modes at once?

Yes. When adding performance data from a game's page, click "+ Add Another Entry" to add multiple device/mode combinations in a single submission. You can also submit a new game with multiple entries.

What if a game already exists?

If the game is already in the index, add performance data directly from its page. Your submission will either be auto-approved (if you have enough reputation) or sent for moderator review.

How are duplicate games handled?

Games with the same title but different release years are treated as separate entries. For example, Resident Evil 2 (1998) and Resident Evil 2 (2019) are distinct games. Always include the release date when submitting.

What does "Uncapped" FPS mean?

It means the game has no frame rate cap in that mode. "Uncapped (mod)" means the cap was removed via a third-party modification.

VOTING & ACCURACY

How does accuracy voting work?

Logged-in users can vote on whether a game's performance data is accurate. If a submission reaches a net score of +5 community votes, it can be auto-approved.

What if I find incorrect data?

Vote it as inaccurate, or submit updated performance data for that game. Operators and Commanders can directly edit existing records.

DISPLAY & FEATURES

What do VRR, HDR, RT, and PT mean?

• VRR (Variable Refresh Rate): The display adapts its refresh rate to match the game's frame rate, reducing screen tearing.

• HDR (High Dynamic Range): Enhanced contrast and color range for supported displays.

• RT (Ray Tracing): Real-time lighting technique that simulates how light bounces in the real world.

• PT (Path Tracing): A heavier form of ray tracing that simulates full-scene lighting paths for more accurate global illumination, reflections, and shadows.

What is Dynamic Resolution?

The game automatically adjusts its internal rendering resolution to maintain the target frame rate. The resolution range (min–max) shows how much it can scale.

What are the view modes on game lists?

You can switch between Grid (cards with cover art), List (compact cards with background art), and Compact (table view) using the toggle in the top right. Try it on the games page.
